Our Story
Make A Change Elite Basketball Club is a non-profit youth sports organization based in Overland Park, KS, serving boys and girls from 8U-17U in the Kansas City Metro area. We are dedicated to providing elite basketball training, player development, and life lessons through the game of basketball. Our club offers specialized coaching, individual and group training sessions, skill development programs, developmental and competitive team opportunities. We operate year-round with teams playing in Fall/Winter or Spring/Summer sessions and participating in local and travel tournaments. Our organization is committed to promoting teamwork, discipline, and skill development, while teaching fundamental skills and instilling values such as character, integrity, respect, and sportsmanship.

Darrin Hancock
Head Coach 15U-17U
Coach D is currently coaching our 15U-17U teams. Coach Hancock is a retired American professional basketball player, former University of Kansas, Garden City Community College and former McDonald's All-American. After college coach Hancock played professionally overseas for Maurienne basketball club in France. Coach Hancock was then drafted to the NBA where he played for the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs. Coach Hancock also had stints in the CBA and USBL earning postseason MVP honors before ending his playing career. Coach Hancock has been coaching and training youth, college and pro players for the last 11+ years.
Shawn Mack
Program Director/Head Coach 12U-14U
Coach Mack is the Program Director as well as currently coaching our 12U-14U teams. Coach Mack graduated from East High school (KCMO) where he was a 4-year starter. Coach Mack has been coaching both middle school and high school boys' and girls' school and AAU teams for 15+ years. Coach Mack has helped guide multiple student athletes to continue their careers at the collegiate level. Coach Mack focuses on embracing the process of player development which entails the need to focus on fundamentals offensively as well as defensively. Coach Mack is a USA Basketball licensed coach.
Rena Tilley
Head Coach 8U-11U
Coach Rena was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Paseo Academy of the Performance Arts in 2006 with honors. Coach Rena started playing basketball at the age of 7. Coach Rena played basketball all through high school and had the opportunity to go to college on a full ride basketball scholarship. Coach Rena decided to get married and start her family. When Coach Renas oldest son started playing basketball she realized she was missing the game and began coaching to help the youth in her community. When I saw that I was making a difference with the youth and their family, I then realized I must keep giving back. Coach Rena has found a home at MAC Elite where she continues to help shape young lives through basketball
